Our Ready for Work Workshops are conducted both online via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face at local Eplus sites.

• 9. Interview skills – General Information

  This session gives an overview of the different types of interviews you may face in addition to discussing presentation and what to wear to an interview, including communication skills, body language and controlling nerves.

• 10. Interview skills – Face to Face

  This workshop prepares you for one-on-one or panel interviews, giving you all the skills you need as you don’t get a second chance to impress. Also included is how to dress appropriately, body language, eye contact and other techniques to make a great impression.

  This course provides a broad understanding of what employers are looking for in potential employees, both in terms of general expectations and specific requirements suggested in job advertisements.

• 15. Intro to computers (Basic)

  This course provides the basics on how to operate a computer. From how to turn it on to using a mouse and clicking functions etc. We then cover how to create folders, uploading a resume and cover letter to SEEK and how to independently job search on line.

  This course provides the knowledge to set up a basic spreadsheet, including information on cutting, pasting and moving information and using simple formulas and calculations.

  This course covers how to access the internet, including using search engines, creating and using an email account and searching yellow pages online. Our aim is to increase your confidence and ability to use the internet for independent job searching.

  This course provides the basics on operating word processing software such as Microsoft Word, including how to create, edit save and print a document as well as some other basic word processing functions.

  This helps you learn how to use social media in their job search, including the rules, etiquette and ethics of social media to avoid common pitfalls that could affect you in gaining and maintaining employment.

  This course explores the Australian business culture and expectations of employers in the workplace. It provides an overview of Australian workplace laws, regulations and rules as well as employee/employer rights and obligations.

  This course covers how to use your Workforce Australia homepage and dashboard to self-attend activities and interviews, including how to choose activities from your dashboard to fulfil your PBAS points requirements.
