McDonald’s and Employment Plus team up

The “Going for Gold” program – a partnership between McDonald’s and Employment Plus – has now expanded into Queensland.

Under the program, Employment Plus finds suitable candidates for immediate employment at participating McDonald’s restaurants – providing the job seekers with appropriate training, on-going support and a wage subsidy.

A number of McDonald’s branches in Queensland are now involved, after the program’s initial success at several sites in New South Wales.

Raylee McLeod owns the McDonald’s restaurants at Lake Haven and Wyong. “Through this we had such a positive experience and have since embraced Employment Plus’s services – taking on three people across our two stores,” she said.

Dionne Poole was unemployed for a year and a half before securing the job at McDonald’s in Wyong.

“I really struggled to find work and didn’t think anyone would employ me after an amount of time not working,” she said.

For Mathew Meili, Going for Gold is also a winner.

“After leaving the construction industry, I really struggled to find work. I turned to Employment Plus after six months of unemployment and they helped me to overcome my fears of re-entering the workforce,” he said.
